It is written in the voice of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen. She lives in the poor Panem, with her young sister and mother. The Capital of the nation is a highly developed metropolis, it takes straight political control over the rest of the nation. The "Hunger Games" are an annual event. One boy and one girl aged 12–18 from each of the twelve districts surrounding the Capital are selected by lottery to compete in a battle to the death. The "show" is broadcasted to the public and it aims to glorify the beauty of bravery. The book is worth-reading as the plot writes about love, courage, as well as social issues. The main character Katniss Everdeen won the game with her lover, Peeta Mellark in the end. This book gives us inspiration about absolute control over people, and the unfortunate life of people who are living in poverty. There is a great contrast between the people who are well-off and the under-privileged who fear their everyday life. It is the first book of the series "The Hunger Games Trilogy" and the story is also made on stage to a movie in March 2009 and it received good comments.
