Little Princes is a touching book written by Grennan after his visit to an orphanage in the south of Kathmandu. The name of the book is originated from the Children’s Home, housed 18 children from the remote provinces of Humia. The children were rescued from a notorious child trafficker who had bought them from poor villagers terrified of the Maoist insurgents eager for new recruits; their parents hoped to keep their children safe, sadly, they often ended up as slaves. Grennan was stunned by the trauma endured by these children. After spending nearly two months with the kids in the orphanage, he determined to help them by all means. Apart from helping the children back home, he also started up a non profit organization in the America, Next Generation Nepal, raising funds, buying a house for the poor children. What he has done is inspiring and praiseworthy. Through reading the book, we learn that we should not take everything for granted. We have to thank God we are living in Hong Kong.
