It's a children fiction talking about Haroun whose father, Rashid Khalifa is a fantastic storyteller. His never-ending imagination brings loads of cheerfulness to the whole metropolis. However, his wife is not pleasant with this. Rashid's nighbour, Mr. Sengupta, who patronizes the role of stories, asks "What's the use of stories that aren't even true?". Rashid's wife thinks in the same way. This depresses him and renders him no more ideas for telling stories. Haroun also can't answer this question. He then decisively embarks on a journey to help his father to find the sea of storis in order to regain his father's storytelling ability. Nevertheless, Mr. Sengupta becomes the antagonist obstructing Haroun's mission. How Haroun finds out the corresponding answer to the question? What is the relationship between the imaginary world and the real world? Let's start reading it together! Author: Salman Rushdie Publisher:Viking Book New York Published date: 01/1999
