Danny, the Champion of the World

When Danny is four moths old, his mother dies so he lives with his father. By the time Danny is seven, he shows his talent that he can take apart, and then put back together, a switch motor. His father own a filling station which is not belong to a wealthy but unpleasant local man called Mr. Victor Hazell. Afterwards, Mr. Hazell decides to exile Danny and his father from their land. Due to the animosity, his father poaches pheasants from Hazell's Wood and teachs Danny how to do that. One evening, Danny's father went poaching and promised Danny to be back but Danny, fearing the worst, discovers his father is not back after Danny waking later that night. Danny rescures his father by taking advantage from a customer's car. Later, they hear Mr. Hazell's pheasant-shooting party is near and so decide to mortify him by ruining the paintwork and interior of the Hazell's car with the help of pheasant. Eventually, with help of Willam, Sgt. Samways and Danny herd the groggy birds onto his car sucessfully. Danny's father and Sgt. Samways hails Danny as a champion, but their victory is kind of a bittersweet one, since the pheasants has flew away at that moment. But Doc Spencer shows them six pheasants are still here. They each receive two pheasants, except the Doc, who didn't want any.
