The story begins with the death of the King and the succession of Claudius, which urges Prince Hamlet to dash back to the country. Unexpectedly, he met the ghost of the King on the way, who came to unmask Claudius, the actual killer of the murder, to Hamlet. This evokes his blazing fury and thoughts of revenge, leading to the extreme tragedy later. Just after Hamlet had fallen in love with Ophelia, Claudius sent him to England on the pretext of the King’s death and conspired with the ruler there to kill him. However, the plot turns out to be in vain, since Hamlet fled back to his country by making use of the pirates. Yet Ophelia died due to the escape, stimulating her brother Laertes to wage a life-and-death battle with Hamlet in return, which causes untold damage to both sides. Ultimately, Laertes reveals the truth of the King’s death to everybody, infuriating Hamlet to kill Claudius before his death. To show the greatness of the book, the following appreciation must be read: Revenge is claimed to be the principle of coping with the enemies. However, if you calm down and reconsider the possible consequence, you will absolutely find it outright unreasonable to avenge and thoroughly silly to think that doing so could improve anything, as the evil will never be rendered good. Worse still, retaliation could completely destroy the harmony, which is as important to joyfulness as oxygen to the humans. Due to their ignorance of caring for the people around, it is also quite impossible for those with burning animosities to be happy even if they are eager to do so. Granted that your fury or sorrow can be relieved by taking revenge, the problem will only remain unsolved or be even worse in the long-term, since who you have retaliated may do the same on you too, ending up with a vicious circle. An obvious example of such kind of fools is Hamlet, whose hatred indirectly led to the death of Ophelia, Laertes, and also himself. By the way, someone may ask how to solve the complicated problem, but it is actually very easy. Just make an effort to pardon others and unfold the problem in a cultured way, you all will then entirely get rid of the miserable effects and accidents caused by violence. After learning a lesson from the failure of Hamlet and Laetres and knowing the advantages of forgiving, why not try to pardon others and stop retaliation, in order to create a peaceful world?
