I guess most of you like Winnie the Pooh. Do you know that this famous character is from a timeless children's classic, Winnie-the-Pooh, written by A. A. Milne and illustrated by E.H. Shepard? I like the humorous storyline and the colourful illustration of this book so much. According to A. A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh is a bear with a very little brain. It belongs to a small boy called Christopher Robin. This character was actually created based upon Milne's own son. All the other characters like Piglet and Tiger were created based upon Christopher’s soft toys or other real animals. The setting of the book is woodland. In reality, the Milne family had a house in the USA woodland. This book consists of different short stories about Christopher and his friends. All those stories are about imaginary events of real characters. One of the short stories that I enjoy most is about the rabbits pull Winnie the Pooh out of the Rabbit’s House. One day, Winnie the Pooh becomes too fat after consuming lots of honey in the Rabbit’s House and it can’t go out of the door. Therefore, all the rabbits help it out by pulling him outside the house. With a “pop”, Winnie the Pooh gets out of the house finally but it hurts so much. Have you ever thought about writing up an imaginary story with characters portraying your friends and family just like what Milne did 80 years ago? I did it when I was a secondary student. My friends and I wrote up stories about love, school life and friendship. Then we shared among ourselves. I enjoyed reading my friends’ stories so much because I was one of the characters in their stories. I hope you enjoy reading this book and even try to write up some stories for fun. You can share your stories with me. I will be very happy to read them.
